There are a lot of valuable ways in which you can support Crossroads Care, from running the London 10k race, making a donation or perhaps you have your own ideas to help raise money for Crossroads Care.
Why your support is vital:
To provide services to an increasing number of carers with an ageing population and changes in medical practice, the number of carers is set to increase to an estimated 13 million in the next ten years. The demand for our services will only rise. It is therefore vital that we find ways of expanding services whilst maintaining the high standards we set ourselves.
Support:
Carers
Everyday 5,500 people take on a caring responsibility and each year 2 million people become an unpaid carer. There are currently 6 million carers in the UK, 1.2 million of whom are caring for over fifty hours a week and it is estimated that they save the government £87 billion each year by providing the support they do.
Financial difficulties for carers
We know from carers that caring can create a vicious circle of problems which all impact on each other - being demoted, losing a job or having to reduce working hours can lead to financial difficulties. These may be further pressurised by the loss of income from the person they care for, who may have previously been in paid employment. All of this can, in the worst case scenario, lead to losing a home. This in turn can cause high levels of stress, depression and feelings of despair for the carer and person they care for.
We look forward to hearing from you! |

Testimonials
"I now have more 'me' time. I am now able to go to my choir, reassured John is being well looked after. In holiday time I have a ?free? evening which is proving magical. The fact that, with notice, I can vary the carer is marvellous and having the same carer is fantastic both for John and myself."
