40 years on - Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act

Anne Roberts OBE, CEO of Crossroads Care, today attended the 40th anniversary of the passing into legislation of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act.
This Act was the first piece of legislation, not just in the UK, but across the world, to recognise the rights of disabled people. The 40th Anniversary of this Act therefore represent an important milestone.
Lord Morris delivered a lecture to a group of invited groups including MPs, peers, champions of disability across government, key stakeholders and other influential in the disability agenda.
The lecture concentrated on the progress to date on disability equality, key challenges that lie ahead in achieving disability equality by 2025 and what the future might look like for disability equality.
